The insight comes from the article “Critical factors for the realization of sustainable supply chain innovations – model development based on a systematic literature review” published in Journal of Cleaner Production in February 2021.

Authors are Fredrik Nilsson, professor in Packaging Logistics and Malin Göransson, PhD in Packaging Logistics, both at Lund University.

Highlights from the paper:

• Critical factors for sustainable supply chain innovation are identified.
• Collaboration, strategic orientation, culture, practices, and political context are found to be the most emphasized critical factors.
• A process model is provided for the design and realization of sustainable supply chain innovations.
